It’s time for another review as part of our mid-year homeschool refresh with The Good and the Beautiful, this time using the Handwriting Workbook: Doodles and Prewriting for Littles, Part 2.

Thanks to the company The Good and the Beautiful for this free product in exchange for our honest review!

This is the second book that we have tried in this series after finishing up part 1. These workbooks come in physical workbook form or you can order a pdf printable version for a little cost savings. We prefer to have the physical book sent to us for convenience’s sake and it’s super affordable!

This prewriting curriculum is designed for use with ages 2.5-5 years old when children have the mental ability needed to focus and write and also the hand dexterity to grip a writing tool. My son (age 4) begs to do these little workbook pages. The pages are designed to help aid children in the development of fine motor skills necessary for later writing.

Part 2 in this series reviews shapes and strokes from part one and also gives opportunities to get familiar with letter strokes, trace shapes and strokes and then try forming them on their own! My son also loves all of the coloring, too!

I appreciate the simplicity and short length of the activities to ease any frustration or overwhelm for young learners. My son would love to churn through lots of pages at a time if I let him! I also love that simple matching and learning opportunities are embedded as the pages teach about nature and objects in our world!

We look forward to continuing to work through this course and I can’t wait to watch my son make more improvements in his fine motor skills.

Have any questions about this curriculum or The Good and the Beautiful? Just ask and we will help in any way that we can!

Growing up I was first introduced to Usborne Books and More at a young age when my mom had purchased books for our family. Since then, I've fallen in love with the books and the company's mission to promote literacy throughout the country.
